Baker Blasts by Competition At Lime Rock Park
Middlefield, MA- It’s been several years since Middlefield resident Kim Baker raced competitively, but that didn’t stop him from winning all four road course races at LimeRock Park over the July fourth weekend. Baker dominated the events sponsored by the Vintage Sportscar Club of America driving a 1988 Corvette owned by Peter Polli of Vermont. The rules specified a car with a racing history. Polli, a successful, long - time racer himself, called Baker and asked that he race his car in the holiday weekend events. “Kim is one of the top road course specialists in the country.
He blew by the competition like they were standing still,” raved Poli. It was a multi-car field with Jaguars, Porsches, Mustangs, and other Corvettes rounding out the 35 competitors. Baker not only won the races, he led every lap and was the fastest qualifier (pole position), in each race.
